3 Students Selected to Attend Black-Tie Cato Event
The Milton Friedman Prize for Advancing Liberty is the prestigious award given every two years to a person who has made a significant contribution to human freedom. In response to this year’s selection of Akbar Ganji, Cato On Campus hosted a contest for students to nominate candidates who have also championed liberty. Yasmin Green, Joseph Hammond, and Liya Palagashvili were selected as the winners of the contest. They presented creative essays that highlighted great achievements for the cause of liberty in the world today, and for that received invitations to join the biennial dinner and reception held in Washington, D.C. on May 13, 2010. Check out a recap of the contest and read excerpts of the winning contestants' essays and read their bios, here.
