Cato on Campus Op-Ed Contest
Description:
We are pleased to host the Op-Ed Contest to provide students an outlet for their excellent writing accomplishments. The purpose of the contest is to encourage students to write op-eds on issues of liberty and learn more about Cato research in the advancement of liberty. Cato on Campus will highlight the best op-ed submitted by students that cites Cato scholars or publications. If your Op-Ed is featured on Cato on Campus, you will automatically receive a free Cato book. As well, the author of the Op-Ed of the Year, selected in May, will receive a full scholarship to the 2012 Cato University (which covers room, board, tuition, and extras).
In addition, by submitting your op-ed to Cato on Campus, we will offer Cato's support for high-quality op-eds. This includes:
- Content review by Cato policy scholars in the area of your op-ed;
- Editing by Cato staff; and
- Assistance in submitting the op-ed to both your campus paper and national publications as well.
Support will be primarily given to op-eds that are relevant to a current event and show significant promise. Please submit your op-eds as soon as possible so they remain relevant to the events of the day.
