A Darker Shade of Green: Are there Reasons to Resist the March Towards a "Green" Economy?

"What will the BP oil spill will mean for our energy future?"

"How can I talk to my environmentalist friends about "going green" without getting into a yelling match?"

"There's gotta be some downside to switching to alternative forms of energy, but I just don't know what!"

If you've ever wondered the same things, or if you're just curious about green or renewable energy, we have the perfect event for you!

Cato On Campus is hosting a discussion panel addressing these questions, and discussing how the federal push for "green" energy will impact our generation as young people in America. Panelists include Jerry Taylor (Senior Fellow and energy expert at the Cato Institute) and Ken Green (environmental scientist and scholar at the American Enterprise Institute).

The panelists will deliver remarks from their particular angle of expertise, and then open the floor for questions. The event will be moderated by Brian Maxwell, a research assistant in the energy studies department at the Cato Institute.

The panel discussion will be followed by a reception, at which interns will able to mingle with each other and talk with the panelists and other policy scholars at the Cato Institute.

The event is open for all interns and young adults in the DC-area, and those online via an online video stream. Please plan to attend, and tell your friends.

Take advantage of your time in DC to broaden your knowledge on a policy that will dramatically impact the rest of your life!
